Adelaide Sunrise - Its 5.30am Were off to Kangaroo Island

Its 5.30am, and were up early again! this time off to Kangaroo Island =)

Adelaides weather is really strange, its actually 22 degree's today - Pretty cold for us now ;)

It was 30 Degree's yesturday when we went to the island, yet a few days ago it was 42!! But, after carnage that was "Alice springs" i can cope with any high temperatures now!

Kangaroo island was amazing, its not a massive island only 150Km by 50Km, but there is so much to see there. And with no straight roads, it does take a while to get around the place. It only has 4500 people living there and is the 3rd largest island off the coast of Australia. The weather is very different to Adelaide and is very changable, as the next landmass to the south is Antarctica. Therefore changes in weather can occur very suddenly and without much warning. With the wind, It was Cold.... Why did i wear 3 Quarters & a T-shirt!

We went for a walk on the beach and managed to get a few meters from a lot of seals. With the mothers off looking for food, the baby seals get quite inquisitive and come within a meter of you. See pic in a bit.

Kangaroo's were everywhere (amusing statement given the name of the island), again you can get quite close for photo's before the hop off away, in a rather amusing fashion.

We walked through some forresty area's and after a while, and managed to video a Koala up a tree having his or her lunch. I say we managed to find, we actually couldnt find anything, but then someone pointed one out for us ;)

We travelled to the southern point where there are hundreds of seals basking on the rocks. This is where i got some amazing footage of seals fighting. Nasty little buggers when they get going, but as always in life im sure it was a women they were fighting over ;)

At the end of the day we managed to leave our group and find a different pub away from the masses, with the help of an off duty Tour guide! Only to find it was run by a guy from stockport, at last someone who talks properly ;) He actaully used to go watch stalybridge celtic and drink in the Hare n Hounds, small world...
